Cloverfield Brings Lizzy Caplan for ADR
OK, the movie is out, so we can break that whole non-disclosure agreement thing we had with J.J.Abrams - Mix One's Chris Anderson spent a day doing dialog replacement with Lizzy Caplan (Mean Girls) for the monster movie Cloverfield. Lizzy was here in Boston filming My Best Friend's Girl and took a break to help J. J. out while he was posting on the West Coast.
Shrouded in secrecy and in post-production under several different working titles, Cloverfield had a lot of buzz coming into theaters. To prevent leaks, the working dubs provided to Mix One were in black and white, with just Lizzy's character's scenes - the rest of the movie was black. No scary elements were revealed, either - just white X's representing various critters and creatures attacking our fearful foursome in the film - all that, and a big "print provided to Mix One Studios Boston" super across the frame prevented us from leaking anything sooner. Sorry!
The session was run simultaneously in Boston and LA via Zephyr, with video link on both ends and the director screening takes there, in sync, as we did them here.
