Ken Simon

Ken is the man who makes it all work. We could leave this little blurb at that, and it would say it all – beginning, middle and end. But we won’t – Ken Simon is also a partner at Mix One, and he’s the technical manager that keeps the facilities up and running so that we can do our daily thing with no downtime. Over the years, Ken has designed and built several studios, systems and custom electronic rigs for the famous, the infamous and the not-so-famous.

Along the way, he has acquired the knowledge and expertise that we’ve come to rely on every day – whether it be troubleshooting a visiting musician’s rig for mysterious noises or translating a troublesome file from the video edit, he somehow makes it all happen quickly, and without any of us invoking the "d-word". Ken also has an extensive background in live sound, which might explain his unflappable nature. It’s simple Darwinism, really – when you’ve mixed the Montreal Jazz Festival for 30,000 demanding fans and worked with so many A-list artists, you either learn to cope or your head explodes.

In his spare time, Ken likes to ski, play volley ball, explore wines, and follows the Red Sox religiously.
